Lap of Scotland 3-point Flying Challenge for 2 people

This flight is the ultimate airborne trial lesson experience! Starting from Glasgow Airport or Cumbernauld Airport, this three-leg experience gives you an in-depth experience of all aspects of being a pilot, the furthest of any air experience in Scotland.

This experience is for 2 people. There are 3 separate flights. You may change pilots for each flight.

Before the flight there will be an extended briefing session, going over all the controls and practicalities of flying this type of aircraft and a detailed flight planning session. Once the flight is ready to commence, the experience goer and the instructor will inspect the plane, on the apron, with a full safety and equipment check.

On-board, settle into the pilot seat, check in with Air Traffic Control and make final preparation for take-off. As you climb out of the airport the world below will stretch for as far as the eye can see. You’ll be cruising at around 4000 feet, where you get views across Scotland to the east and west coast. Landing at Cumbernauld Airport or Glasgow Airport you’ll set down at the Airport. After a short stop it’s onto the second leg of the flight to Prestwick Airport.

Here you will land, have a coffee and take some time out to talk about what you have learned flying the aircraft. Then it’s time for the final leg back to the home airport, where you can put your new flying skills into practice.

Each leg of the flight takes approximately 30 minutes and the experience goer will be encouraged to fly the aircraft for as much of that time as possible. Take off and landing is normally controlled by the instructor from the co-pilot seat.
