Seal & Lagoon tour, Oban

Kayak or stand up paddle board in some of the clearest waters that Scotland has to offer and enjoy meeting the locals, the seals! This seal safari takes place in a sheltered cluster of islands where the water is only a few metres deep and offers amazing water clarity – a truly unforgettable day.

Upon arrival at the pier, from where your experience departs, you will be checked in and briefed on the plan for the day as well as safety measures. From the departure location, you will travel, by boat, to Tobermory where you’ll stop for a comfort break and maybe a cake from the bakery! From there, you’ll travel on to the seal colony.

This is a large colony, where you will find Common, Harbour and Grey Seals. Typically when you arrive at the location, 10- 20 seals swim around the boat to say ‘hi’! You’ll then go out on to the water in your kayak and play time really begins as the seals zoom about you.  As well as seals, you can expect to see a variety of seabirds, colourful nudibranchs, blue-rayed limpets, many different species of crabs and colourful anemones. There may even be sightings of whales, dolphins and white-tailed eagles.

The sit on top kayaks and stand up paddle board are perfect for the sheltered waters of the lagoon and you don’t need any prior experience in one as you’ll be given some basic instruction before going out.

With the clarity, shelter and shallow water, this is a perfect location for beginners to get their ‘water confidence’ up, with the option to try snorkelling for a small suppliment! After 4 hours of exploring the deserted islands, you will begin your return journey back to dry land, again stopping in Tobermory for a break en route.

This is a once in a lifetime experience that is perfect for wildlife lovers!

Under 16s must be accompanied by a parent/ guardian. Must be able to swim 100m, no previous experience in a kayak or SUP required, kayak or SUP board provided, wetsuit available for hire

Not suitable for spectators, however welcome to pay when booking and go for boat trip
