This is the perfect gift for aspiring photographers who are keen to advance their skills! Your instructor will be a highly skilled professional photographer, who aims to tailor the lesson to your prior knowledge making this experience suitable for a complete beginner right through to those who know what they are doing behind a lens.

Upon arrival at the experience meeting point, you will be greeted by your tutor who will begin by covering the theory of photography. During this time, they will gauge your ability and you can discuss what you want to get out of the experience.

Your tutor will teach you how to approach each shot individually, enabling you to take stunning photographs every time. They will aim to cover a wide variety of techniques including great image composition and throughout the experience you will be encouraged you to try new things; if you shoot with a wide angle lens, try a bit of telephoto and vice versa. Or, keep things simple and use one fixed focal length (prime) lens such as a 50mm and explore the possibilities of shooting very shallow depths of field.

As this Introduction to Photography takes place in central Edinburgh, you will be spoilt for subjects to choose from… whether it is Edinburgh’s world famous architecture or sweeping views across the city, with every shot you will enhance and develop your skills.
