Based on being a complete beginner, this is the perfect experience for you to learn the basic techniques and skills to kite surfing. Get ready for an action packed and exciting experience!

Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed by your friendly, IKO certified instructor and introduced to the rest of group. There is an excellent student to instructor ratio and your instructor will take you through the important safety briefing and features as you are shown your equipment for the lesson. There are a number of different kite sizes to maximise your learning and to help build your confidence. All are state of the art kiteboards from Naish, Best Kiteboarding and Ocean Rodeo.

This experience will begin on land before you move in to the water. You’ll be introduced to the equipment and key kite skills and manoeuvres. This will include understanding where and when it’s safe to fly; carrying and setting up the kite and lines; determining the wind direction and upwind and downwind directions (windward, leeward); flying a small kite on the wind window edge and maintaining it close to the ground; knowing how to stop the kite power in case of problem by releasing the bar; knowing how to safely launch and land the kite and body dragging.

You’ll be amazed at how much you can learn and this is an absolute must for anyone planning on taking up kitesurfing. It is also great for those needing a refresher if you’ve been away for a while. You’ll leave wanting to do more of one of the worlds most exciting and environmentally friendly sports!
