Brand new for 2018, take part in this full day class where you will learn the art of felting and create your own toy or picture to take home! This is the perfect gift for the crafty person in your life looking to try something new.

Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed and introduced to the rest of your classmates. All abilities, from beginners to the slightly more experienced, are catered for and the classes are kept to a small number.

With this experience, there are two options of classes available and you will be either doing needle or wet felt. Needle felting is a dry felting technique where you will create a little toy rabbit or hare. Using specially designed needles for wool, you’ll be shown how to begin your masterpiece by stabbing the wool enabling it to lock in on itself. Once you have the basic shape you can then begin to sculpt your design in more detail.

Meanwhile, wet felting is thought of as the more traditional technique and in this class, you will be making a picture. For this method, the wool has been treated by heat, water and agitation to shrink it into felt. You’ll be shown the process of combining layers of wool into one flat piece before creating your picture.

At the end of the day, you’ll have a piece amazing artwork of your own making to take home as well as the necessary skills for creative felting!
