Who we are:

Dragon Drone Training’s background, is from Dragon Helicopters, which provided theoretical knowledge and flight training for both private and commercial helicopter pilots. We also  provided helicopter filming platforms for a number of companies including the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky and numerous production companies.

Along with the three founders of Dragon Drone Training our instructors and your support staff have accumulated vast experience and thousands of flight and instructional hours on helicopters and hundreds of drone flight hours with both military and civilian experience.

We are the first CAA approved NQE(5371) located in Scotland.

We are also the first in the UK to be approved to conduct training and flight testing indoors within the Oriam Centre building, ensuring that the Great British weather doesn’t interrupt the CAA approval process or your course – no need to re-attend due to poor weather.

Our role is to provide instruction and guide you through the CAA approval process, as you join the aviation industry, flying ‘side by side’ with other aviators.

The course overview:

To fulfill the CAA requirements we offer  4 days (4 nights arriving the day before) residential (4star B&B) course which includes:

• Student study manual PDF, covering the CAA syllabus subject areas
• Theoretical Knowledge ground school and the formal exam
• Practical flight training (as required) with an instructor
• Practical flight/skill test with an examiner, guaranteed so, no returning at a later date (CAA approved indoor facility for adverse weather conditions – rain and or high winds)
  

Operation Manuals

• Operation Manual – Volume 1
• Systems – Volume 2
• Assessment – Volume 3
  

The above Volumes (1-3) will be completed and amended together over the course.

The creation of an Operational Manual is paramount and will be used as part of the flight/skill test.

We provide our own CAA approved Operation Manuals which together we will amended to your specific requirements, which need to be submitted to the CAA as part of the approval process.

Our courses start every Monday throughout the year, with the exception of the Christmas period.

We can also wrap the course around a weekend Friday to Monday or over two weekends, as is convenient, you choose.

Course Costs

Residential course costs £990 +vat including 4 star B&B accommodation.

Course without accommodation £634+vat.

There is other accommodation available, Travelodge etc. a few miles away.

If you elect to fly or arrive by train we will meet you and transfer you to and from your accommodation.

Our role is to instruct and guide you through the CAA approval process with our experience and regardless of the weather we will deliver exactly that.

The course is delivered by Dragon Drone Training, a CAA approved NQE(5371) training school.
