60 Minute Light Aircraft Flying Lesson – multi-location

Experience the thrill of actually flying a light aircraft over Scotland! Choose from one of three departure locations; Perth, Prestwick or Glasgow.

Upon arrival at your chosen airport, you will first attend a safety briefing which includes a familiarisation of the aircraft. You’ll be asked if there is anything you want to see specifically in the area for a fly-past as part of your experience. Then you are good to go on your 60 minute flight!

Once on board, your instructor will do pre-flight checks, start the plane, taxi to the runway and take off. The plane will climb to around 2000 feet at approximately 120mph. Once at cruising altitude, you’ll be offered the opportunity to take the controls of the aircraft. You will put it through manoeuvres such as cruising, climbing and banking, all under the safe supervision of the instructor.

You’ll get amazing panoramic views of the area including local towns, railways and landscapes as you fly past. Depending on departure location, you’ll see landmarks such as Stirling Castle, Scone Palace, The City of Glasgow and the Isle of Arran. The aircraft’s panoramic windows allow you to view right around the world beneath you.

You’ll be able to communicate with the instructor through the aircraft radio and will also hear the air traffic control and other aircraft in the area.
