Light Aircraft Flight (4 seat plane) – Cumbernauld Airport

Welcome aboard this amazing trial flying lesson experience from Cumbernauld Airport, North of Glasgow. This experience offers the thrill of actually flying a light aircraft over Scotland as all aeroplanes are fitted with dual flying controls!

Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed by your professional pilot who will go through a 20 minute safety briefing and familiarisation of the aircraft with you. Make sure to say if there is anything you want to see specifically in the area for a fly-past as part of your experience! You’ll then be ready for your flight. Once on board your instructor will do pre-flight checks, start the plane, taxi to the runway and take off.

Up in the air, the plane will climb to around 2000 feet at around 120mph. You’ll get amazing panoramic views of the area including local towns, railways, the motorway and landscape as you fly past. See landmarks such as Stirling Castle, the Wallace Monument, the Falkirk Wheel and the Antonine Wall in a totally new perspective!

When at cruising altitude you’ll be offered the opportunity to take the controls of the aircraft and experience the unrivalled freedom of flying over the Scottish landscape. Put it through manoeuvres such as cruising, climbing and banking, all under the safe supervision of the instructor.

In the four seater airplane there is the opportunity for an observer to fly in the rear seat whilst you pilot the plane in the front. This is a fantastic experience and certainly something you will remember!
